Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How to enroll in a Course

  • You can see a list of all the courses we are offering on our Calendar Page — courses that complement each other are Hi-lighted in Green. As long as there is room you can take any combination you wish.
  •  We ask for Deposits to reserve places,  and there are active PayPal Buttons to the right of each course on our Calendar Page. The deposit is important because it protects you as much as it does us. (In normal times most of our classes are full, and the deposit helps “full” to mean truly “full,” and we don’t turn you away when in fact there is still room for you!)
  • You can see the status of each class on the Calendar Page. “Limited places” means there are 8 or more students already booked — we close our classes at 12. In regular times we also have a “Waiting List.”)
  • When to arrive. Live-in students arrive the afternoon before the class begins as the Rasidaton (Thai Yoga) is at 7am on the first morning. Your dinner and bed for that night will count as part of your first day of class, which means your course-fee will cover you through to the end of the last day of class at 4pm (plus one final steam bath about 5.30pm if you wish. And of course you are always welcome to stay longer.)

1) Cash in baht

  • Baht can be obtained by exchanging your own country’s bank notes at a Chiang Mai bank or exchange place. Charges vary very little from one provider to another, so it is not worth shopping around.

  • The important point is that this is by far the cheapest way to pay us because the fees are very small.
  • HINT: Get a tight-fitting money belt that you can wear inside your clothing. It is as safe as any other method. Pay us soon after you arrive and the risks will be minimal.
  • ($1.00 = Bt 32.79; €1.00 = Bt 37.44 — August 1st, 2025)

2) ATM Card

  • any visitors use their ATM cards in Chiang Mai. However, please note there is a charge of about 200 baht ($6.00) per transaction.

  • It is to your advantage to arrange a daily limit with your home bank that allows you to withdraw at least 10,000 baht in one transaction.
  • (Some machines allow withdrawals of 20,000 or even 30,000 baht. This is better, as you save on transaction fees.)
  • N.B. YOU MUST NOTIFY YOUR BANK AHEAD OF TIME IF YOU PLAN TO USE YOUR ATM CARD IN THAILAND.

3) Credit Card

  • We do not have credit card facilities on our own account. However, you can use your regular credit card to pay us through PayPal, WISE, or via the “Credit Card with Cash Advances” option.

  • Please note that for all these transactions there will be a transfer fee, as well as a currency conversion fee from your currency to baht.

  • These charges can amount to as much as 4.7%.
  • Needless to say, any transfer or currency conversion fee is your responsibility.
We will credit you with the exact amount we receive, not the amount you send.

4) PayPal or WISE

  • A very easy and safe option is to have a PayPal or WISE account of your own.
You can use these accounts to pay both the deposit and, later, the remaining balance using your credit or debit card.

  • BUT YOU MUST SET THIS UP BEFORE YOU COME TO THAILAND — it can take at least a week, so please allow plenty of time.
  • PayPal charges a 4.7% transfer fee, and that choice along with the cost is your responsibility.

5) Wire (Bank-to-Bank) Transfers

  • In our experience, international wire transfers are the most expensive and complicated method. They can create accounting difficulties for both you and us.

6) Thai Bank to Thai Bank Transfers

  • If you already have a Thai bank account, this is a very easy way to pay.
Simply ask us for our bank details. It takes only a few minutes.

⚠️ Important Reminder

  • As we say again and again, you must notify your home bank of your travel plans before you come to Thailand. Otherwise, your ATM and/or credit card may be blocked.

  • Without notification, your bank may assume the card has been stolen if it is suddenly used in Thailand.
